Client: BINARY FABLE
Last Autumn, Edinburgh-based animation company, 'Binary Fable', asked us to create an identity for their latest project 'The Lost Book'. Working in partnership with the Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust, 'The Lost Book' is an online adventure in collaborative storytelling. Comprising six online episodes, for which the story lines will be created by readers, the project will mirror the themes of 'Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World' and will run in conjunction with The Lost World Read campaign, due to launch in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol at the end of January 2009.
Our brief was to create an identity that would evoke a number of themes connected with the project including exploration, adventure, evolution, geology, environmentalism, journalism and dinosaurs. It had to appeal to adult and young readers alike and make use of bright colours to complement the look and feel of 'Binary Fable's' animation. The team had great fun working on the project and we're all waiting with much anticipation to see how the story will unfold - and of course, to finding out who stole the book from the National Library!
The project runs from January to July 2009 and the first episode will be launched on 30 January.
